Crazy but true: there's going to be another OnePlus phone this year
The OnePlus 2 has not even launched yet -- it will hit the market on August 11 -- but OnePlus One founder Carl Pei, has already spilled the beans on the company's next product. It will, he says, launch before this year is out.
The OnePlus 2 has not even launched yet -- it will hit the market on August 11 -- but OnePlus One founder Carl Pei, has already spilled the beans on the company's next product. It will, he says, launch before this year is out.
'There's going to be a second phone this year, before the end of the end of the year. Hopefully for Christmas,' said Pei in an interview to USA Today.
'It may or may not be [more powerful than the OnePlus 2]. When I saw the prototype for that phone I was like 'holy shit, that's going to be my daily driver' but then when the OnePlus 2 production version came out it's also super nice, so its really hard to decide now what to use.'
Does OnePlus have a cheaper phone up its sleeve? After all, the OnePlus 2 costs ₹ 24,999 for the 64 GB version, hardly a budget buy. There are plenty of lower-priced competitors from Xiaomi, Lenovo and Motorola that are all priced at less than ₹ 20,000 that might not exactly give the OnePlus 2 a run for its money but aren't really bad phones.
