Twitter has been in the news as much as it's broken the news. Here's looking at some of the defining moments of Twitter recently:

Chetan Bhagat fiasco: Author Chetan Bhagat was the butt of several jokes after he blocked Saad Akhtar, the creator of the web comic Fly You Fools, after the latter disagreed and got the better of Bhagat over an argument on the piracy of books. Thousands of tweeple ganged up against the author and started contributing to the jokes on him on the trend 'Chetan Blocks'.

Tharoor Tweets: One of the earliest on Twitterverse, from discussing his travel preferences to publicly discussing his ministerial decisions, Tharoor's done it all. His comments on travelling with the 'cattle class' when he travelled in Economy caused much furore.

The Break-Up: They followed, they unfollowed and then, they followed again. Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor took their 'break-up' to a completely new level by advertising it by unfollowing each other.

Emran Hashmi: The actor had to face flak from his Tum Mile director, Kunal Deshmukh after he posted pictures from the movie on his Twitter page, before its release.

Nandy tweets: Veteran tweeter, Pritish Nandy, is known to openly voice his opinions on the platform. But his tweeting about not liking Kareena's performance in Kambakht Ishq enough, had the actress snap back at him. Director Karan Johar also felt that Nandy "seems to have too much time" when Nandy posted a link to a not-so-good review of Kurbaan on his Twitter page.

Scandalicious: In another bid for publicity, Mallika Sherawat posted a picture of Brett Ratner, Hrithik Roshan and herself on Twitter, revealing to the world about the co-director of Kites, and tweeting, "There's your scandal".
