Freedom 251-maker, Ringing Bells, to open bookings for LED TVs on August 15
In case of the TV sets, it claims that it will start delivering the TVs from the next day which is August 16. But the company has given no clarity has to how the whole process will work and how it will manage to take orders and deliver in just a day. The previous flip-flops also raise a serious doubt.
Ringing Bells, the makers of Freedom 251 - the ₹251 priced smartphone, on Friday said that it would open bookings for its 31.5-inch Freedom 9900 HD LED TV on the independence day. The price of the TV set was announced at ₹9,900.
On July 8, the company had confirmed that TV sets would be shipped on 15th August. This is not the first time that Ringing Bells has gone back on its promises. Earlier, the company went back and forth with the delivery dates of the ₹251 smartphone. Founder and CEO of the company, Mohit Goel, had previously said that the delivery of the low-cost smartphones would finally begin from July 6 and not June 30 as was announced earlier.

"The bookings for the television will remain open for one day i.e. August 15, 2016. The booking will be done on our website (http://ringingbells.co.in/) and the product will be on cash-on- delivery (COD) model. We are expecting good response for the television and assure our customers that they will get a quality product in the price that they never thought of in the current market scenario" a company spokesperson said.

Ringing Bells Freedom 9900 TV comes with a resolution of 1366×768 and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. It comes with 2 HDMI, 2 USB ports and 2 speakers. "The product will be cash-on- delivery and the company expects to see bells of good times ringing yet one more time," the spokesperson said.
However, if history is of any lesson, Ringing Bells has not even delivered all the Freedom 251 phones that it has promised. It took the company over four months to come clean about the strategy of the product and how the company was planning to sell them at such a low price. Now it is a matter time to see if people take the bait and crash Ringing Bells' website again.
