Google is reportedly planning major updates to its Chromecast platform, according to documents obtained by 9to5Google.
The second generation Chromecast could debut at a Google event later this month, showing off a range of new features.
Part of the update affects the device's exterior, which will come in three colors and a different form.
Inside, the new Chromecast looks to offer an improved WiFi service with perhaps support of a faster bandwidth. It also offers a new feature called 'Fast Play,' which would presumably allow for quicker connections, and support for content feeds on the home screen.
The new Chromecast looks set to debut at Google's September 29 event and would launch in at least 10 countries.
