The fastest-selling video game of 2013 and of all time, 'GTA V,' is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PCs this fall.
Integration with multiplayer component 'Grand Theft Auto Online' means that progress can be transferred from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 saves to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC as desired.
Confirmed during Sony's E3 press conference on the evening of Monday, June 9, the upgraded edition is to benefit from 'a stunning new level of detail' in comparison to the original versions, explained the Rockstar Games blog.
While the game was a technical marvel running on six- and seven-year-old hardware in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, there were nonetheless various issues that further fostered the belief that 'Grand Theft Auto V' would be coming to PC if not Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
'Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North's epic reimagining of Southern California,' reads the Rockstar announcement.
Enhancements include 'new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, and an array of new details to discover,' while the PC version will come with a video editor 'designed for advanced movie-making,' ensuring players can share their in-game accomplishments with greater ease and flair.
A fall release window, while less specific than other date announcements coming out of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, gives Rockstar some leeway should any final layers of polish require extra application; pre-order information listed on Amazon's US site indicated that the week of October 28 was thought most likely.
