In a few months, the gaming world will celebrate a major event: the release of the fifth installment in the 'Halo' series, exclusively on the Xbox One. Diehard fans of the sci-fi franchise, which was launched in 2001 on the original Xbox, will rush to stores to secure their copy of 'Halo 5: Guardians,' which was designed specifically for play on Microsoft's latest console.
The fifth game in the series is the first to have a subtitle. Details on the game's plot and on the titular 'Guardians' are still under wraps, but Microsoft could provide more insight on June 9, during its E3 press conference in Los Angeles
Ahead of the game's release, Xbox Entertainment Studios is developing a live-action TV series based on the Halo narrative. Co-produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, the project is expected to premiere in 2015 on the Xbox One streaming platform and possibly also on the cable network Showtime.
