HTC One A9 smartphone with a fingerprint sensor expected to launch today
Taiwanese handset-maker HTC is expected to launch a new mid-range smartphone in India on Wednesday evening. The phone, the HTC One A9, is expected to cost under ₹ 20,000. It’s an aggressive move by HTC -- the phone features a fingerprint sensor and runs Marshmallow, the latest version of Android -- to recapture market share lost to Chinese players like Xiaomi in the country.

The phone features a fingerprint sensor and runs Marshmallow, the latest version of Android.With its latest entrant, HTC hopes to recapture market share lost to Chinese players like Xiaomi in the country.
With a all-metal body and antenna strips on the back, the HTC One A9 looks suspiciously like an iPhone. It sports a 5-inch display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM. The rear camera is 13 megapixel with an f/2.0 aperature for better low-light pictures. The front camera is 4 megapixels with HTC's ultrapixel technology, which, the company claims, takes better pictures than regular cameras.
HTC also claims that the phone supports microSD cards up to 2TB, but good luck trying to buy anything more than 128 GB. Internal memory on the HTC One A9 is 32 GB.
