Leaked images of the upcoming HTC One A9 suggest the phone will be taking more than a bit of 'inspiration' from the iPhone 6/6S in terms of core design.

According to a Twitter post by prolific tech industry insider Evan Blass (@evleaks), the HTC One A9 - codenamed Aero - will be available in Acid Gold, Opal Silver, Deep Garnet, Carbon Gray, Rose Gold, and Cast Iron on release. The smartphone is scheduled to debut next week on September 29.

Previously rumored specs of the One A9 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable memory, 13 MP main camera with OIS, 4 MP front-facing snapper, and Android Marshmallow. A 5 inch 1080p AMOLED display and 2,150mAh battery are also said to be on board.

Lately, HTC has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. In August, the company's stock sunk so low that its entire market capitalisation is now worth less than the cash it has in the bank. In plain speak, it means that people think the company is essentially worthless.

HTC isn't a market leader by any stretch, but it makes HTC One M9, one of the best Android phones available which has received across-the-board good reviews.
