The year 2020 witnessed a major change in the way we work owing to the pandemic. While on one hand working in offices was replaced by working from home, team meetings were replaced by conference calls. This change in working conditions, in theory, should have disrupted work environments in various industries across the country, instead, it led to greater collaboration between employees.

Flock today shared its ‘How India Worked Report 2020'. In the report, the real-time collaboration platform shared some interesting insights on the working patterns of Indians in the past year. For instance, there was a 13% increase in one-on-one messages sent between individual users since March 2020. Similarly, there has been a 76% increase in public channels to help groups communicate and get the job done.

The report also said that an average amount of calendar invites sent per user per day on Flock increased by 22% after March 2020. The platform also saw small businesses in India increase their amount of files shared by a whopping 55%.

Flock in its How India Worked Report 2020 said that Flock users in India started their day at 8AM and ended their day at 6PM on an average. A lot of the user activity dipped between 12PM and 3PM, during typical lunchtime hours. It was also understood that users tend to be online longer on Thursdays, presumably to chase their remaining work at the end of the week. Additionally, the report said that while most Flock users are offline on Sundays, the platform saw a lot of activity on Saturday afternoons.

Flock also said that the use of its voice notes feature that was introduced earlier this year, saw an increase of 379%. Lastly, Flock's shared to-dos tool saw its usage increase by 37%, indicating that employees and managers are being more proactive in getting their tasks done, and sharing their status with others in the team.
