Instant tea now unbelievably instant!
A newly designed kettle can produce your favourite cuppa in just 3 seconds, making it truly 'instant'.
A recent breakthrough by scientists has made a cup of tea possible in just three seconds.
Boffins have designed a kettle, which, according to them, can produce a cup of hot water in only three seconds, reports the Daily Mail.
Users fill the Tefal Quick Cup kettle from the tap in the standard way, but the innovation comes when they press a red button. The device sucks up a pre-set amount of water - 220ml, which is sufficient to fill a mug. This is drawn through a spiral heating element and emerges, piping hot, from the spout.
If 220ml is excessive, users can press the button once more to exterminate the flow. If more is required, they can keep their finger on the button until the machine has produced enough.
The Tefal kettle is more than just a super-fast water heater for it also includes a water filter, which is intended to clean up the tap water it uses, reducing chlorine. Users can press a second, black button to get a glass of room-temperature, filtered water.
At £59.99, the Tefal kettle has some other drawbacks as well. The water the machine produces is very hot, it is not quite at boiling point. As a result, tea lovers may find it doesn't draw as much savour from a tea bag.
Likewise, the water might not be quite hot enough to work with all types of dried soup, hot chocolate or a Pot Noodle.
The company also warns that it would not be hot enough to make the sterile water needed to reconstitute dried baby milk.
