Initially unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona last month, Lenovo has now launched the K5 Plus smartphone in India. Priced at 8,499, the smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart starting March 23.

Encased in a metal body, the Lenovo K5 Plus looks strikingly similar to an iPhone, and competes against rival devices like the recently launched InFocus Bingo 50, which goes on sale exclusively on Snapdeal staring March 21.

Key specifications on the Lenovo K5 Plus include a 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core processor bundled with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (up to 128 GB), along with a 2,750 mAh removable battery. Optics on the smartphone include a 13-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Infocus Bingo 50 gets a 5-inch HD display, a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor bundled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (upto 64GB) and a 2,500mAh battery. Cameras on the smartphone include an 8-megapixel rear shooter along with an 8-megapixel selfie cam.

The Lenovo K5 Plus runs Android 5.1, comes with Lenovo's TheaterMax technology aimed at giving users an immersive multimedia experience when viewed through a VR headset along with support for Dolby Atmos.

InFocus Bingo on the other hand runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and is essentially aimed users who want a solid selfie camera. The front camera features a Samsung S5K3H7 camera module with back-side illumination for enhanced low-light performance and almost zero shutter lag. The company is also offering the first 1,000 buyers of the Bingo 50 with a free ROCK Selfie Stick worth 1,000.

The Lenovo K5 Plus has been priced at 8,499 and will be available via open sale exclusively via Flipkart. The InFocus Bingo 50 gets a price tag of 7,499 and will be available exclusively on Snapdeal starting March 21. The registrations for the devices start on March 15.
