LG’s X Screen to come with panic button at ₹12,990
The smartphone, which will be available from July 20, 2016, sports two screens that enables an always-on display which helps users check basic information such as time, date and notifications without having to wake up the phone.
Smartphone-maker LG on Monday launched its first smartphone that comes with a panic button and a secondary display unit -- X Screen -- at a price of ₹12,990 in an exclusive partnership with domestic e-commerce firm Snapdeal.
According to the company, the X screen is the first smartphone of its newly introduced X series of smartphones in the country which are expected to be in the mid-range category. Also, this is the first time that LG will sell a smartphone via the online route only.
The smartphone, which will be available from July 20, 2016, sports two screens that enables an always-on display which helps users check basic information such as time, date and notifications without having to wake up the phone.
"The second screen keeps the recent used user applications for easy access along with facility to receive calls without interruptions on the main screen and so does music play with all controls on top screen, for extreme convenience to users," a company spokesperson said.
The X screen comes with a 4.93-inch primary display unit and a 1.76 inch HD in-cell touch secondary display which is always on. The first smartphone of th X series is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 2GB RAM unit.
The phone, which runs Android Marshmallow, comes with a 16GB internal memory. In terms of optics, it comes with a rear 13-megapixel camera unit and a 8-megapixel front camera. The 4G LTE device draws power from a 2,300 mAh battery.
