The new Start menu would reportedly look like a hybrid of the best of Windows 7 and Windows 8 and would be around the same size as the Windows 7 menu. Microsoft announced at its build conference that the new Start Menu would also feature miniature Live Tiles along one side, The Verge reported. Also read click here. While aiming to make a return to Windows' roots, Microsoft also reportedly demonstrated a new mode that would allow modern Windows 8 apps to run in the desktop environment inside their own windows, which will make a lot of keyboard and mouse users very happy. However, the new desktop will not replace the current Windows environment entirely as the full-screen Start Menu and apps will still be around for those who want them, the report added. The new features will be featured as a part of a 'future update' of Windows later this year, but a major Windows 8.1 update is to come later this month without any of the new features, the report further added.
