Nokia 3.1 Android One phone launched in India: Full specifications, price

Nokia brand licensee HMD Global on Thursday announced the launch of Nokia 3.1 smartphone in India. Priced at ₹10,499, Nokia 3.1 will go on sale on July 21 and will be available across mobile retailers and online via Paytm Mall and Nokia.com.

Nokia 3.1 is touted as one of the most affordable phones to offer 18:9 display. The phone sports 5.2-inch HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Nokia 3.1 is based on Android One, Google's initiative for low-end phones. Running on Android 8.0 Oreo, the phone is eligible for the next Android update, Android P.

"Nokia 3.1 will receive three years of monthly security patches and two years of OS updates from launch, as guaranteed in the Android One programme. This puts them among the most secure phones out there, always up to date with the latest Google services like the Google Assistant and Google Photos with free unlimited high-quality photo storage," said the company.

In the camera department, Nokia 3.1 has a 13-megapixel sensor with auto focus, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. On the front it has an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of built-in storage, supports expandable storage up to 128GB.

Other key features of the phone include 2,990 mAh battery, 3.5 mm headphone jack, microUSB, and Bluetooh 4.2. Note that the phone doesn't come with fingerprint scanner.

Nokia 3.1: Deals and offers
Consumers purchasing Nokia 3.1 from a retail outlet by scanning the Paytm Mall QR code will be eligible for 10% cashback on future recharges and bill payments on Paytm. They will also get two ₹250 movie cashback vouchers on Paytm. These vouchers can redeemed against booking minimum two movie tickets through Paytm. On payments via ICICI Bank credit or debit card, customers will get a 5% cashback.

If you're an Idea or Vodafone customers, HMD Global is offering data bundles and unlimited calls.

"On a recharge of ₹149 pack, they will get 1GB data/day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS/day for 28 days; additionally, consumers upgrading from 2G or 3G phone to the new Nokia 3.1 will get 1GB data/day for 28 days. On a recharge of ₹595, consumers will get unlimited calls, 100 SMS/day, 18GB data for 6 months," said the company in a note.
