OnePlus 6: Latest teaser reveals super slo-mo video recording feature
OnePlus 6 to come with Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus-like super slow motion video recording feature.
Ahead of the official launch in India on May 17, OnePlus has posted a new teaser which reveals a big camera feature on its upcoming flagship smartphone. According to the teaser, OnePlus 6 will come with super slow motion video recording - a feature exclusive to select smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S9+.
OnePlus' tweet reads, "Let's slow down time" accompanied by a 12-second video highlighting that the camera feature. OnePlus 6 is expected to feature a dual-camera setup on the back which is likely to be a combination of 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel sensors.
Catching up with the flagships
Ultra slow motion feature has been around for quite some time, but has remained available on very few smartphones. Sony last year launched Xperia XZ Premium which featured 960 frames per second video recording support.
Samsung joined the bandwagon earlier this year with its Galaxy S9-series which can also capture slow motion 960 frames per second. Samsung claims stretch a 0.2-second video into a longer 6-seconds video. The catch with Samsung's slow motion video recording feature and the tech in general is that it's resource draining and in the case of Galaxy S9+, results were pretty much inconsistent.
For OnePlus, the new feature is going to be a big addition. The company has already hinted at big camera upgrades with its latest OnePlus 6. Recently CEO Pete Lau shared a few shots taken by OnePlus 6 indicating the camera can deliver sharper and richer results.
New colour models spotted
We may have caught a glimpse of the official OnePlus 6 design through a tweet (later deleted) by Amitabh Bachchan. The Bollywood actor tweeted an image of him and Lau holding the black and white variants of OnePlus 6. The tweet has been deleted but you can have a look at the cached version here.
