Jio Fiber launch updates: Broadband plans start at ₹699, monthly, annual plans explained
Reliance Jio Fiber launch live updates: Jio Fiber’s commercial launch will take place today where the telco will unveil full data plans, offers and more.
Reliance Jio has finally announced full data plans of its Jio Fiber service. Jio Fiber data plans start at ₹699 and go up to ₹8,499. Jio Fiber subscribers will be charged a one-time payment of ₹2,500 under which ₹1,500 will be security deposit and ₹1,000 will be non-refundable installation.
Reliance Jio Fiber Monthly data plans
Jio Fiber data plans are categorised into bronze, silver, gold, diamond, platinum and titanium. Jio Fiber bronze plan is priced at ₹699 offering 100Mbps speed with 500GB+200GB data extra. Jio Fiber silver plan priced at ₹849 also offers 100Mbps speed but with 200GB+200GB extra data. Jio Fiber gold plan offers higher 200Mbps speed with 500GB+250GB extra data.
Jio Fiber diamond plan is priced at ₹2,499 and with this users get 500Mbps speed and 1250GB+250GB extra data. Jio Fiber platinum plan comes with the highest 1Gbps speed and unlimited data up to 2500GB. The most expensive Jio Fiber plan is titanium priced at ₹8,499. Here, users get unlimited data up to 5000GB with 1Gbps speed.
Reliance Jio aims to reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments in 1,600 towns with its Jio Fiber service. At its AGM this year, Jio Fiber service generated 15 million registrations across 1,600 towns, the company said. Jio Fiber beta trials are currently ongoing with 0.5 million homes already. Jio also said it is using "feedback" from the trial to fine-tune service.
Reliance Jio Fiber JioForever annual plans
Reliance Jio Fiber also comes with annual plans, called JioForever. Under the Welcome Offer, Reliance Jio is offering all the above monthly data plans as annual plans. The base annual JioForever plan is available for ₹8,388. The offer includes free Bluetooth speaker, Home Gateway, 4K set-top-box, and access to Jio content. Jio Fiber: Availability
Jio Fiber service is currently available in many cities including Bengaluru, Agra, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Jamshedpur, Varanasi, Patna and Meerut. With the commercial rollout of Jio Fiber, this broadband service will be available to more towns and cities across the country.
Reliance Jio Fiber: Existing users
Reliance Jio had been running a beta trial of its Jio Fiber service. Under the 'Preview Offer', Reliance Jio offered users up to 100Mbps free data. Existing Jio users will be migrated to the new postpaid plans announced by the telco. For the migration process, Jio will get in touch with the existing users.
Reliance Jio Fiber: What users get
Consumers who subscribe to Reliance Jio Fiber will get a digital set-top-box and landline connection for free. Jio is also offering free voice calls to any operator (mobile or fixed) in the country. Jio Fiber users can also buy unlimited international calling pack for the US and Canada priced at ₹500 per month.
Reliance Jio Fiber: Offers
Reliance Jio will run a limited time 'Welcome Offer' for users who subscribe to the annual plans. Through this offer, Jio Fiber users will get a 4K set top box and HD or 4K LED TV or home PC for free. Jio will also launch its 'First Day First Show' offer next year which will let Jio Fiber users watch movies the same day as theatre release.
Reliance Jio Fiber: How to register
Interested users can register for Jio Fiber through Reliance Jio's official website. The process requires users to first add their home address, contact details and verify through an OTP. Once the registration process is complete, a Reliance Jio sales representative will connect with you for the installation of the Jio Fiber connection.
Reliance Jio Fiber: Set-top-box
Reliance Jio Fiber comes bundled with a digital set-top-box Jio set-top-box is compatible with gaming, MR and VR content, OTT platforms and local channels as well. Jio set-top-box can be used for VR and MR content in different categories such as shopping and education. Jio set-top-box is also compatible with all gaming controllers and will support console games like FIFA 2019.
Jio said its set-top-box will broadcast channels from local cable operators (LCO). Jio has already partnered with LCOs like Hathway and DEN.
Reliance Jio Fiber was first announced at the company's AGM last year. The telco has been running a beta trial for Jio Fiber (then GigaFiber) since August 15 in select cities. Jio announced more details of its Jio Fiber service at its recently held AGM 2019.
