RIM retires the official AIM for Blackberry

Research in Motion plans to discontinue the AOL Instant Messenger, come October 28, 2011. Blackberry smartphone users shall already get a prompt every time they open the AOL messenger advising them to download and install the new AIM for Blackberry application that has been built by AOL themselves.

Research in Motion plans to discontinue the AOL Instant Messenger, come October 28, 2011. Blackberry smartphone users shall already get a prompt every time they open the AOL messenger advising them to download and install the new AIM for Blackberry application that has been built by AOL themselves.

The new AIM messenger shall allow the users to chat and connect with not just their fellow AIM subscribers but also Facebook users.
