The new version offers features including up to 1GB file sharing, English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English instant translation, up to 1001 members' group chat, easy location sharing, sent message recall and SMS/MMS integration.

This multi-platform service will be available across Android, iOS, windows and Blackberry and can be used across a wide range of devices.

"We are witnessing an upswing in the demand of smart appliance, which go beyond hardware and functionality, enabling new possibilities for people to work, explore, share and create," a company spokesperson told HT.

The launch of 3.5 ChatON is in line with the company's plans to strengthen its portfolio in India, said Tarun Malik, director, Media Solutions Centre, South West Asia, Samsung.

The platform will also help online store major eBay India to reach smaller towns. "We have great offers on eBay India exclusively for ChatON channel," said Latif Nathani, MD, eBay India.
