Here's what happens if you try to insert the stylus on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 into its slot on the phone the wrong way: it still fits, but then, it gets jammed.

You'll still be able to un-jam it if you try to pry it out slowly -- careful there -- but doing so might result in permanent damage to its slot on the phone.

If you're really unlucky, you might just end up disabling the Note's stylus detection feature.

This is particularly annoying, because the stylus encounters absolutely no resistance if you put it in the wrong way, something that wasn't an issue with previous versions of the Note.

In a statement to technology news website The Verge, Samsung said:

'We highly recommend our Galaxy Note5 users follow the instructions in the user guide to ensure they do not experience such an unexpected scenario caused by reinserting the S pen in the other way around.'
