Tech Wrap: Airtel, Disney+ Hotstar, JBL and Oppo turned newsmakers today with their launches
There was a lot of action in the tech world today as companies lined up to unveil their new products and plans.
A number of launches marked the day with JBL rolling out two new earphones in India, Airtel launched a new prepaid plan, but at the same time scrapped an older one, boAt launched Airdopes 501 earphones in India and Oppo launched a smartwatch in China. You can read all about it below:
JBL launches two new earphones in India
JBL today launched LIVE PRO+ TWS earbuds and LIVE 660NC earphones in India. While the former costs ₹16,999 and is available in Black and White colour variants, the latter costs ₹14,999 and it is available in India in Black, White, and Blue colour variants.

Airtel launches ₹79 prepaid plan in India
Airtel has launched a new prepaid plan worth ₹79 prepaid recharge plan in India. Airtel's new prepaid plan offers talktime worth ₹64, with 200MB of data and a maximum OG MoU of 106 minutes. The company will charge 1p per minute for local and STD calls when the talktime expires. This new plan comes with a validity of 28 days. However, it has scrapped the entry-level ₹49 prepaid recharge plan.
Oppo Watch 2 launched in China
Oppo today launched a new smartwatch called the Oppo Watch 2. The newly introduced Oppo Watch 2 comes in two variants, one with a 42mm dial and the other with a 46mm dial. In addition to this, users can pick from the variants that offer eSIM support for LTE connectivity and the one that doesn't offer this connectivity option at all. It is available in China and there is no word on when it will arrive in the international markets.
boAt launches Airdopes 501 earphones in India
boAt today launched Airdopes 501 earbuds. It comes with features like Bluetooth v5.2, the company's own BEAST for low audio latency, ASAP Charge, ENx, and more. The buds have been launched at an introductory price of ₹2,499 on Amazon and Boat and they come with a one-year standard warranty.
Disney+ Hotstar unveils ₹499, ₹899 Super, ₹1,499 paid plans
Disney+ Hotstar has upgraded the paid plans portfolio in India. The OTT platform is offering three new annual subscription plans to the users. These new plans are worth ₹499 per year, ₹899 per year and ₹1,499 per year. These new plans will be effective starting September 1.
