Temple Run and other top apps come to Windows Phone

The hit Android and iOS action adventure application Temple Run is now available for Windows Phone, Microsoft announced this week.

The hit Android and iOS action adventure application Temple Run is now available for Windows Phone, Microsoft announced this week.

The application Temple Run, which first launched on iOS about 18 months ago, is an action adventure game that puts players in the shoes of an intrepid explorer trying to escape a hostile jungle with a precious artifact.

The free application, which has spawned a sequel (Temple Run 2 -- not available on Windows Phone), hit Microsoft's Windows Phone store Wednesday; other apps, notably 6th Planet, Propel Man, Orcs Must Survive, Drift Mania Championship and Ruzzle, are expected to be rolled out on the platform over the coming days.

While the arrival of Temple Run on the platform is good news for Windows Phone users, it should also be noted that the sequel to the game is not available for Windows Phone and the game does not utilize Microsoft's Xbox Live platform.
