Twitter has been long missing tools to deal with multiple abusive tweets but the social media company has finally announced updates for iOS, Android and desktop users that promise to take care of the problem.

Earlier, users had to flag off individual tweets to Twitter's safety team to report abuse online. The new updates, in most cases, will trigger an investigation into the responsible account to determine if disciplinary action, such as account deletion or an IP ban may be in order.

According to Twitter's official announcement, this update will actually make life a bit easier for Twitter's safety team and for all users affected by the abuse in a number of ways.

"We want everyone on Twitter to feel safe expressing themselves. Behaviour that crosses the line into abuse is against our rules and we want it to be easy for you to report it to us. So, today we're introducing an improvement to our reporting process: the ability to attach multiple Tweets to a single report," Twitter said in its official blog post.

The update will make investigations faster and safety team members will no longer have to scour a user's profile for abusive Tweets if just one is reported, and users will no longer have to send multiple reports that clog up the queues and may even end up handled by different members of staff.

"This update makes it easier for you to provide us with more information about the extent of abuse and reduces the time it takes to do so. That added context often helps us investigate issues and get them resolved faster," the company wrote.

The official announcement also pointed out that more safety and security features will be coming in updates down the line, with no details given at this time for what those updates may be or when they could roll out.

"We have more improvements coming that will give you even more control over your experience and look forward to sharing those updates soon. For more information on our current tools, policies, and processes, head over to our safety center," Twitter wrote.
