Vi announces special offers for its low-income subscribers

Vi will provide ₹49 pack to its low-income customers for free of cost.

Vi on Tuesday announced special Covid-19 relief offers for its 60 million low-income subscribers. The offers are aimed at helping customers stay connected during the ongoing wave of the pandemic.

As part of the relief offers, Vi will provide ₹49 pack free to low-income customers. The pack features talk time of ₹38 and 100MB data with a validity of 28 days.

“As a special gesture, with this one-time offer, VIL will be extending benefits worth up to ₹2,940 Mn to the low-income group users in the country,” said Vi in a release.

Additionally, Vi has also launched a new Combo Voucher RC79, offering the benefit of double talk time of ₹128 (64+64) and 200 MB of data with a validity of 28 days, for a limited period.

Vi's announcement follows Airtel's special relief offers for the low-income subscribers.

Airtel had said it would offer its ₹49 pack low-income subscribers free of cost as a one-time gesture. The pack comes with a talk time of ₹38 and 100MB of data with a validity of 28 days. Airtel said the scheme would benefit about 55 million low-income customers.

Earlier, Reliance Jio announced special offers for JioPhone users. The company said it would provide 300 minutes of outgoing calls per month for free to all the JioPhone users who could not recharge due to the pandemic.

Jio added JioPhone users would get 10 minutes of free outgoing calls per day and that this offer would be valid for the entire duration of the pandemic.

Additionally, Jio said every JioPhone plan recharge made by the users they will get an additional recharge plan of the same value for free. This offer, however, doesn't apply to annual JioPhone plans or JioPhone device bundle plans.
