If you are waiting for Nokia's return to India, then we have some good news to offer. It might just be that Nokia may stick to their China policy and offer the new smartphones via a regular sale strategy rather than a flash sale -- a move made famous by Chinese handset-maker Xiaomi.

HMD Global, which promotes the Nokia-branded phones, has clarified in a statement that the D6 smartphone that is currently on sale in China is not under the flash sale strategy. In fact, it was the sheer popularity of the device that made it look like a flash sale.

According to the statement passed on to NokiaPowerUser -- a Nokia information blog, HMD Global had to restock D6 units to keep up with the orders on JD.com where the phone was put on sale.

"Actually we have been updating the inventory on JD.com more than 3 times, but those were usually gone within minutes or hours, so that's why you have the impression that we were doing flash sales. We will keep supply to JD for sure and now the Chinese New Year holiday is mostly over and everybody's back for work, you can expect more supplies in the coming days and weeks," the statement read.

In fact, the company had received 1.4 million registrations on its second day - that's more than the entire population of Bahrain.
