Samsung
One of the most eagerly anticipated product launches, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to sport a premium outer shell hued from metal and glass rather than plastic and an innovative display with a double curve so that the screen can be split into three.

Microsoft
The company has sent out invites to a special event on March 2 and the rumors are that it will be unveiling a new premium handset too as well as giving attendees a first taste of what its new operating system will offer.

Sundar Pichai, the senior vice president, Android, Chrome and Apps at Google will also be taking to the stage and this is stoking rumors that Google's Project Ara modular smartphone will be making its real-world debut at the event.

Hot topics
Now that Apple has launched ApplePay, digital wallets and mobile payments are expected to be high on the agenda. This year's MWC is expected to be the place where Samsung demonstrates its own digital wallet system and also where Google unveils its updated Google Wallet app. It's no coincidence that the CEO of MasterCard, Ajay Banga, will be a keynote speaker.

Wearables, the next generation
Alongside new smartphones with 5-inch+ displays, many companies this year will also be showing off wearables and in particular new smartwatches. HTC is expected to unveil its first wearable at the event and Huawei also has something up its sleeve
