WhatsApp to offer WhatsApp Web Beta program for iOS, Android users soon
This program will be compatible with both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business apps.
WhatsApp typically offers beta programs for its Android and iOS-based apps in order to test its features before they are released to a wider audience worldwide. Enrolling in a beta program also gives users a chance to access the messaging app's features well in advance. Now, word is that the company is planning to offer a similar feature for WhatsApp Web.
WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is planning to offer WhatsApp Web Beta program for iOS and Android beta users soon. This program will be compatible with both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business apps and it will enable users to use WhatsApp Web without having to keep their phones connected to the internet. Simply said, it will enable the company to test the hyped multi-device support functionality that has been in the works for a long time.
The screenshots shared by the tipster indicate that a lot of WhatsApp Web's existing features might not work for users once they join the WhatsApp Web Beta program. For instance, the Delete for Everyone feature may work on the linked devices but not on WhatsApp Web. The company will add support for this feature gradually.

The company also notes that other users will have to update their WhatsApp version in order to chat with the users enrolled in this program. Both calls and messages will not be supported if the other person is not using a recent version of WhatsApp.
Lastly, the screenshot says that users who join this program will be able to link up to four desktop devices including Facebook Portal at once.
Additionally, the screenshots say that the option to join this program will be available in the Settings menu under the WhatsApp Web/Desktop option. It will appear only for the users who are already a part of the company's beta program. Once users click on the WhatsApp Web Beta program, they will be greeted with a prompt that says “Join the new WhatsApp Web Beta, which no longer requires that you keep your phone connected.” Clicking on the ‘Got it' button makes users enrol in the program.
That said, this program isn't available yet. It should be available to users with future updates.
