This feature is under development and it will be available in the company’s iOS and Android-based beta apps in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp has been working on bringing a number of new features to its platform such as multi-device support, support for Chat Thread and Instagram Reels among others. In addition to this, the messaging app is also working on a feature that would enable users to change the playback speed of voice messages. WABetaInfo reports that the Facebook-owned messaging app will offer three speed options to users for playing their voice messages. The screenshots shared by the publication show that once released, users will be able to play voice messages at 1.0x, 1.5x and 2.0x speeds.

The user interface of this feature is fairly simple and easy to use. Users can adjust the playback speed of the voice message by tapping the speed label on the voice messages. The tipster says that WhatsApp would also support lower playback speeds, however, they won't be released for the public as they make less sense.
