WhatsApp back in March this year had reduced the limit on Status videos from 30 seconds to 15 second in India. This had been done to reduce the traffic on server infrastructure. Now, word is that the company is planning to restore the old limit to Status videos soon.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is restoring the 30-second limit to Status videos. The update is available as a part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.20.166.

The blog post says that the Facebook-owned messaging app might restore the limit to older versions of its Android-based app as a server-side update soon. However, it cautioned that rolling the update to all users might take some time.

There is no word when the limit will be rolled out to WhatsApp's iOS-based app.

Separately, the company rolled out an update to its iOS based app that brought Messenger Rooms shortcut to the platform. As per the screenshots shared by the blog site, Rooms shortcut will be available on top of the Photos & Video Gallery option in the Attachment Picker menu at the bottom left corner of the chat window.

Alternatively, users will also be able to use this feature when they call a contact.
