It never hurts to be more careful, or for that matter, more thoughtful while sharing content on social media in order to make it more entertaining, captivating or simply to provide a new perspective. Instagram is reportedly taking this process to the next level and wants it users to be more "intentional and deliberate". Instagram is testing a number of new features on its platform and we already know that the company is working on a feature called ‘Exclusive Stories', similar to Twitter's Super Follow, that would enable content creators on its platform to monetise their content. Now, word is that Instagram is working on a feature that is aimed at making people reshare other people's content more thoughtfully.

Instagram Reshare feature: TechCrunch reports that the Facebook-owned photo and video sharing platform has started testing a new feature called ‘Reshare sticker' that aims to change the way people reshare content in their own stories. When Instagram users select the Reshare Sticker, they will see a ‘recently viewed' tab that will give them access to all the posts that they have seen, saved or posted in the last hour. Users can then select the posts that they want to reshare and add them to their own stories. When selected, the Reshare sticker will let users insert IGTV videos, reels and even images in their Instagram Story. Surely, it will be an enriching experience all around, both for the sender and the recipient.

What Instagram said: As of now, when a user adds a Reel to their story, it is shown against a plain background. But the new Reshare sticker changes that. The publication says that the content reshared using the Reshare sticker will appear as a part of a user's existing story and hence can be personalised. Additionally, it will make Instagram users be more thoughtful about the content that they reshare on the platform. “We hope that with this new test experience, people are encouraged to be more intentional and deliberate when sharing things that matter to them,” an Instagram spokesperson told the publication.
