Microsoft has announced the latest update to its Windows 10 preview for smartphones, build 10052, which includes a number of bug fixes and adds a flight mode, as well as the ability to simply turn off internet connectivity.

Among the issues addressed are problems with saving MMS preferences, with foreign language virtual keyboard downloads and with the camera viewfinder on certain models.

The Windows 10 preview for smartphones now includes the majority of apps that will be available in the final version, including Outlook, Maps and the new Project Spartan browser. The Office 2016 apps are expected to be added soon.

Slated to be compatible with smartphones of between 3 and 7.99 inches, the new OS requires between 512MB and 4GB of RAM depending on the display resolution of the device (512MB for 854x480 pixels, 4GB for high-definition screens with upwards of 2560x2048 pixels). Smartphones with less than 4GB of built-in memory should still be able to run the OS with an upgrade via microSD card.

Overall, the around 30 smartphones currently sold with Windows 8.1 are expected to be compatible with the Windows 10 multi-platform OS. Specifically, unless Microsoft announces any new bugs, the current Windows 10-ready models are the Lumia 520, 525, 526, 530, 535, 620, 625, 630, 635, 636, 638, 720, 730, 735, 810, 820, 822, 830, 920, 925, 928, 1020, 1320, 1520 and Icon as well as the Microsoft Lumia 430, 435, 532, 535 and 640.

Windows 10 is due to launch officially in 190 countries and 110 languages in summer 2015.
