Xiaomi will launch its new selfie-focused smartphone, Redmi Y3 in India today. Xiaomi Redmi Y3 will come with a 32-megapixel selfie camera, making it the cheapest smartphone to offer this.
Xiaomi Redmi Y3 launch event is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm. Interested users can catch the event live through this link. Xiaomi has been teasing its new selfie smartphone for quite some time now. The company even showed off Redmi Y3's durability through a short video.
Xiaomi Redmi Y3 was thrown inside a wastebasket covered with tape, and rolled down the stairs. The smartphone appears fine in the video, and is seen functioning properly with no scratches or dents. The video also gives us a good glimpse at the design of the phone. Redmi Y3 is seen with a glass-like back with a glossy finish. It also has the "dot notch" up front, and the dual rear cameras are placed vertically at the rear.

Xiaomi also promises long battery life on the Redmi Y3. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor. Launched at ₹10,999, Redmi Y2 comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors.
Redmi Y2 features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The smartphone houses a 3,080mAh battery, rear fingerprint sensor along with facial recognition for security.
