Xiaomi will launch the first Redmi TV in India today. Xiaomi hasn't revealed much about the product but teased an ‘XL Experience' hinting at a large-screened TV. The launch event for Redmi TV is scheduled to take place today at 12 pm, and it will be live streamed on Redmi India's YouTube channel.

Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar teased the Redmi TV confirming that it will come with the company's Vivid Picture Engine, and support for HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. The Redmi TV will come with a remote with dedicated keys for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The teaser page also highlights the Redmi TV will be made in India although leaks suggest it could be one that was recently launched in China.

This will mark the sub-brand's foray into the smart TV market in India. Redmi already has an array of product offerings including smartphones, fitness band, earphones, and wireless earbuds. This will be the latest major product launch by Redmi in India. Xiaomi already sells Mi TVs in India in different price categories.

The first Redmi TV made its debut in March last year. It has since launched a series of Redmi TVs including Redmi Smart TV X50, Redmi Smart TV X55, Redmi Smart TV X65, Redmi Smart TV A series and Redmi Smart TV A65. The most recent launch was the Redmi Max UHD TV with an 86-inch display. Priced at CNY 7,999 ( 91,000 approx), the Redmi Max 86-inch UHD TV features an LED-backlit screen with HDR support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has support for Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD and has a sound output of 25W.
