Galaxy A42 5G, Samsung’s cheapest 5G phone rolls out to more markets

Samsung is rolling out its Galaxy A42 5G to more markets. Launched in Thailand, the smartphone is priced at 11,990 Baht ( ₹29,600 approximately). Galaxy A42 5G is Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphones to date. It debuted in the UK last month with a price tag of GBP 349 ( ₹33,400 approximately).

Samsung Galaxy A42 follows the Galaxy A51 5G which had launched in the US earlier this year for $499 ( ₹36,600 approximately). As of now, there is no word on the availability of the phone in the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G comes with a quad-tone finish on the back. It is available in Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White, and Prism Dot Gray colour options.

The smartphone sports a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with HD+ resolution. It also has an on-screen fingerprint sensor.

Samsung’s cheapest 5G phone comes with a quad-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, 5-megapixel depth sensor, and 5-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, it features a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

For performance, Samsung Galaxy A42 5G uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor. It is available in 4/6/8GB RAM versions. The phone has 128GB of built-in storage. There is also a microSD card slot that supports additional storage up to 1TB. The 5G phone runs on a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support.
