iPhone 14 to be MORE expensive than iPhone 13! See how much you have to pay this year

It is only a matter of few months before Apple releases the iPhone 14 to the world. If you haven’t been following the leaks, the iPhone 14 is expected to be a mildly tweaked version of the iPhone 13 and might even use the same chipset! The minor changes led many to assume that the iPhone 14 could most likely carry the same price as the iPhone 13, or could be even lower, since there won’t be any iPhone 14 Mini this year. Based on a new report though, that doesn’t seem to be the case. In fact, you might have to pay more for the iPhone 14 this year.

Based on a report from The Sun, it is said that iPhone 14 will debut with a higher price tag than that of the iPhone 13’s base price. Dan Ives of Wedbush says in the report, “"We believe a $100 price increase is coming for the iPhone 14. Prices have been increasing across the whole supply chain, and Cupertino needs to pass these costs to the consumer on this release,” he says. Hence, by September, Apple could launch the iPhone 14 with a price tag that is $100 more expensive.

iPhone 14 could be priced higher

However, another analyst in the same report says that Apple eventually decide against it, saying that the price hike could back fire on Apple. "Apple will have some tough decisions to make on pricing on iPhone 14. There is no question that production and component costs continue to rise for all consumer electronics makers, and in the case of the UK, exchange rates are a factor too. These elements would suggest a price rise may be necessary. But given the cost of living head-winds Apple may decide that increasing prices could be counterproductive,” said Ben, of CCS Insight.

Rumours are already suggesting that Apple is making major compromises with the iPhone 14 this year. The iPhone 14 could come with the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13, may retain the same cameras as well as the design. The front camera could get an autofocus selfie camera, and it is also said that the display will have a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Additionally, there won’t be an affordable Mini variant of the iPhone 14 this year, since Apple is introducing a new larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus model this year that could be sitting between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.
