Moto G Power, Moto G Play images, basic specs leaked

Motorola has a whole bunch of G-series smartphones scheduled to launch this year. And just as we kick off the new year, images and basic specs of some of those G-series devices have leaked. For starters, the Moto G Power (2021).

The Moto G Power is a variation of the Moto G10 Play that was first spotted in a leak in November. The Moto G Power is expected to launch in the US market and comes with the model number XT-2117.

The Moto G Power is essentially a ‘lite’ version of the Moto G9 Power which was launched in November last year. The smartphone is going to be using the same Snapdragon 662 chipset as the Moto G9 Power, but will come with lesser memory. The Moto G Power will come in two variants - 3GB/32GB and a 4GB/64GB.

On the camera front, there is a step down as well. The main shooter on the Moto G Power is a 48MP as compared to the 64GB that’s on the Moto G9 Power, the selfie camera is also a 8GB instead of a 16GB. The other two 2MP sensors on the back remain the same as the older smartphone. Also, the battery on the Moto G Power is only 4,850mAh which quite does not fit the “Power” moniker on this device. The Moto G9 Power comes with a 6,000mAh battery.

The Moto G Power (2021) is expected to launch soon and will be available in Blue, Grey and Silver.

Next, the Moto G Play (2021) is going to be a “scaled back” version of the Moto E7 Play. This smartphone is also going to come with the same Snapdragon 460 as its more powerful older version but in a 3GB/32GB configuration. The Moto G Play will retain the same 5,000mAh battery though.

There is a scaling back on the camera front as well. The 48MP primary shooter is replaced by a basic 13MP and the 8MP selfie camera is replaced by a 5MP. The 2MP depth sensor on the back is also replaced by a macro camera. The Moto G Play (2021) has the model number XT-2093 and is codenamed “Guam”, as per reports.
