Xiaomi is soon going to launch a new smartphone under its Redmi 9 series. Called Redmi 9i, the phone is slated to go official on September 15. Ahead of the official launch, Redmi 9i is already listed on Flipkart and mi.com. The listings reveal a few important features of the upcoming phone.
According to the listing, Redmi 9i will come with 4GB of RAM. The phone is also confirmed to come with MIUI 12 out-of-the-box. The listing further confirms the phone will offer better storage, gaming experience, and photography.
GSMArena in its report points out that the “big storage” could refer to 64GB built-in storage. The phone could also support microSD card for expandable storage. Redmi 9i could also come with a 6.53-inch HD display, 5,000mAh battery, and MediaTek Helio G25 processor.
Redmi 9i will follow Redmi 9A which launched in India last month. Available with price starting at ₹6,799, the phone comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display with 20:9 aspect ratio. It runs on MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0Hz.
Redmi 9A comes in two options - 2GB/32GB and 3GB/32GB. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. On the camera front, the Redmi 9A features a 13-megapixel AI rear camera. On the front, it comes with a 5-megapixel AI selfie camera.
So far, Xiaomi offers Redmi 9A, Redmi 9 Prime, and Redmi 9 smartphones in the lineup. The Redmi 9 Prime is available in India for a starting price of ₹9,999. The base Redmi 9 is available for a starting price of ₹8,999.
