Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G could be one of the first models in the Redmi Note 12 model lineup. Reports have emerged about the IMEI database showing a phone listed as the sweet_k6a_global model, which is said to be the codename for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G. At the same time, the Note 12 Pro is said to be based on the Redmi Note 10 Pro from 2021. The phone will be a rebadged version of the same phone that Xiaomi used to sell in India and certain global markets.

Back in October, Xiaomi had announced the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G models in China and it seems the company now wants to expand the series to global markets. In India, Xiaomi has been celebrating the eight years of the Redmi Note series devices in India, and is hinting at a new launch in the country soon. It seems that the Redmi Note 12 series could debut globally with a rebadged model.

The codename listed in the IMEI database suggests that Xiaomi could make minor changes to the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The report on Xiaomiui suggests that the phone could come with minor changes to the camera and some aspects, although the phone could largely remain unchanged.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

The Redmi Note 10 Pro was one of the best devices of 2021 in the affordable segment, debuting premium features such as a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 108MP main rear camera and Xiaomi’s famous 5MP macro camera, a 5000mAh battery with 33W wired charging, and a premium glass back. The phone relied on the Snapdragon 732G chipset, which was one of the more reliable midrange chips in the 4G smartphone space at the time.

What remains to be seen is whether Xiaomi continues using the same Snapdragon 732G chip in 2023. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G, which launched earlier this year, used the MediaTek Helio G96 chipset and that itself offers the same kind of performance.
