Samsung Galaxy A82 spotted with punch-hole camera

Samsung is reportedly working on the successor of Galaxy A80, its first rotating camera phone. But it looks Samsung will not continue with the rotating camera mechanism for Galaxy A82. The smartphone has appeared on the Google Play Console listing website with its specs and design revealed.

First spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma, the image in the listing shows Galaxy A82 with a punch-hole selfie camera. This suggests that Samsung may not continue with the rotating camera mechanism on the Galaxy A82. Samsung launched Galaxy A80 with much fanfare in 2019 as it featured a rotating camera. The smartphone's rear cameras rotate to the front for selfies. Other smartphone brands have also launched phones with this concept but it didn’t stick for long as punch-hole cameras are quite the norm now.

The Google Play Console listing also reveals the Galaxy A82 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor paired with Adreno 640 GPU. On the software front, it will run Android 11 out-of-the-box. It will feature a 2,400 x 1,080 display, and pack 6GB of RAM.

Galaxy A82 is also rumoured to sport a 64-megapixel camera which could be Sony’s popular IMX686 sensor.

Samsung is yet to announce the launch of Galaxy A82. In its home market, Galaxy A82 is rumoured to launch as the Galaxy A Quantum 2 and it will be equipped with a QNRG chip for enhanced security. Samsung launched the first Galaxy A Quantum smartphone last year in partnership with SK Telecom.
