Samsung Galaxy M01s launched in India, priced at ₹9,999

Samsung on Thursday announced the launch of a new budget smartphone in India. Called Galaxy M01s, the smartphone is priced at ₹9,999. The phone is available across Samsung's offline retail stores, Samsung.com and other major e-commerce portals.

Samsung Galaxy M01s comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ TFT display with Infinity-V cutout on the front. The phone has two rear cameras featuring 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

For performance, Samsung’s new budget phone relies on MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The phone supports expandable storage up to 512GB. Samsung Galaxy M01s is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

Samsung’s new phone has a dedicated fingerprint slot on the back. It also supports face recognition for faster unlocking. On the software front, it runs on Android 10-based OneUI Core. Other key features of the phone include Dolby Atmos technology and pre-loaded Samsung Health app.

Samsung Galaxy M01s is available in Light Blue and Gray colour options.

Based on the price and specifications, Samsung’s new budget smartphone will compete with the likes of Realme Narzo 10A and Xiaomi’s Redmi 8.

Priced at ₹9,799, Redmi 8 comes with a 12-megapixel AI dual camera setup. It has a 5,000mAh battery with USB Type-C support and 18W charging. The phone has up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB storage. It comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ display.

Realme Narzo 10A is available online for ₹8,999. The phone comes with a 12-megapixel triple rear camera setup. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. The phone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It supports expandable storage up to 256GB. Realme Narzo 10A has a 6.5-inch LCD with HD+ resolution.
