Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 likely to come with three displays

Samsung, earlier this year, launched the second generation foldable smartphone, that is, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, back in August this year. Now, a new report suggests that the company has started working on its third-generation premium-budget Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone.

As per a report by the Dutch site Lets Go Digital, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone will come with three displays. The patent submitted by Samsung in March 2019 and published on October 1, 2020, reveals that the phone will have a full-screen display on the cover. This cover display will come with a punch-hole camera that is placed in the middle of the display. On the inside, it will have two displays that will form a large tablet-like display upon unfolding. The display towards the right side will have a punch-hole camera that is placed on the top in the middle of the display.

The defining factor of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, however, will be the hinge. The report says that the foldable display smartphone will come with an indicator that is mounted on the hideaway hinge that contains multiple light-emitting elements. This light indicator will be used to notify the user of new notifications or incoming calls and messages.

The patent says that the phone’s lighting strip will offer visual and decorative effects combining several light colours.

Furthermore, the report says that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to arrive in the second half of 2021. The Galaxy Z Flip 2, on the other hand, is likely to arrive along with Galaxy S21 in February 2021.
