Xiaomi Pad 5 launched in India, gets SHOCKER price tag

The Xiaomi Pad 5 marks Xiaomi's return to the tablet space in India after years of wait! And as with all Xiaomi products, it carries a stellar price tag, considering all the specs it packs inside. In fact, the Xiaomi Pad 5 ends up being the most power tablet in its price range. The tablet will go on sale from May 3 and will be available with launch offers.

Before we head into the specs, let us have a look at the prices. The Xiaomi Pad 5 carries a starting price of ₹26,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The other variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at ₹28,999. There is an introductory price though, which brings down the price of the base variant to ₹24,999 and ₹26,999 for the 6GB/256GB variant. Additionally, HDFC bank is also offering a discount of ₹2000 on transactions made via its cards and EMI. The offer will be valid until May 7.

Xiaomi Pad 5 specs at a glance

The Xiaomi Pad 5 offers a 11-inch display WQHD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 16:10, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a dedicated ambient light sensor. The display also supports True Colours and Dolby Vision.

Instead of settling for a midrange chipset, the Xiaomi Pad 5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 paired with upto 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Xiaomi uses a new MIUI for Pad, which is more optimised for the tablet with dedicated features such as multitasking via split-screen and floating windows. However, the Pad 5 still runs on Android 11 and Xiaomi is yet to announce any update plans. For audio, the Pad 5 gets a Quad Speaker setup.

The Pad 5 has got some cameras too. The tablet features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP camera at the front. These are best used for scanning documents and video calls.

Lastly, the Xiaomi Pad 5 relies on a massive 8720mAh battery and gets support for 33W fast charging support. Along with the tablet, Xiaomi has also launched a Xiaomi Pad 5 Keyboard accessory with 12mm deep travel. There is also a Smart Pen made for the Pad 5. Note that you will need to buy these accessories separately.
