Bose is renaming its couple of earbuds, hints a leaked promo video and official website

Bose is planning to rename a couple of its audio wearable products. There’s no official announcement on it yet but a leaked promo video from an Australian retailer named Harvey Norman has given out the information. As per the video, Bose will be renaming its ‘Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700’ to ‘QuietComfort Earbuds’. It is worth adding that the firm has just announced its Earbuds 700 but has not yet revealed the specs or have brought it to the shelves. So, it looks like the device will reach the market with a different moniker.

In the video, which now has been taken down, Bose is seen touting the wearable device’s highlights by using terms like "world's most effective" and "breakthrough acoustic innovations". It also mentions the output to have "crisp, clear audio and deep rich bass." Also mentioned are custom-designed microphone array and up to six hours of battery life. However, these are not IP rated.

And that’s not all, Bose is also renaming its Earbuds 500, which was also announced last year, to ‘Sports Earbuds’. This also indicates that the firm might be planning to completely kill the ‘Earbuds XXX’ moniker with these being the first step. And including them in the more popular ‘QuietComfort’ family might just give a boost to sales considering the brand recognition in the dedicated space. The ‘Sports Earbuds’ moniker can be seen on the Bose’s UK website. Although the US and other websites still mention ‘Earbuds 500’.
