In the past, Fossil has launched some of the best Android smartwatches in India and on the global level. However, when the company launched its Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch, it wasn't the actual competitor to the latest Apple Watch models and the Galaxy Watch 3. That's because it lacked the LTE support. Now, the firm seems to be working on the same front.

According to a new FCC filing, reported by Android Central, the next generation of Fossil smartwatches might come with LTE support. The device is being dubbed as Fossil Gen 6 and will also be the first Fossil-branded smartwatch with LTE feature.

This means that users will now be able to use the smartwatch more independently and won't have to check their smartphones all the time. They might also be able to reply to messages or take incoming calls, change music, all while keeping the smartphone inside the pockets or at home.

In addition, the inclusion of LTE can also open Fossil smartwatches to be sold via carriers and bundled with other handsets. For now, it is not clear which processor this watch will be powered by. However, since the Fossil Gen 5 came with 1 GB RAM and Snapdragon Wear 3100 Soc, the upcoming device could feature the newer Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset.

Meanwhile, Realme is launching new smartwatches in India. The company is bringing the Watch S Pro and Watch S to the country. Both of them have a circular dial like seen in Fossil smartwatches too. One of the key features is said to be the blood oxygen and heart rate monitor.
