Fortnite’s Rift Tour event might host Ariana Grande, leak suggests

A free event umbrella leaked recently, and some other information shared by a certain Twitter personality linked to Epic and Fortnite news, strongly hints at Ariana Grande being the mysterious star to feature in the Rigt Tour event.

We told you about Fortnite's upcoming Rift Tour event just yesterday and we had mentioned that it was going to star a “record-breaking superstar” whose name was a mystery. There were also rumours that Ariana Grande might be the star who is going to be seen on the Fortnite virtual stage and she might be joined by other music heavyweights like Travis Scott and Marshmello. Now it seems there might be some truth to those rumours. According to a SlashGear report, The Rift Tour event might host Grande in the in-game concert event.

The Rift Tour, an event that Epic describes as a ​​“musical journey unto magical new realities where Fortnite and a record-breaking superstar collide”, is going to take place on August 6 starting 3PM PDT. That's like 3AM IST but fret not, there will be replays more suited to your timezone, no matter where you are. “Starting today, you can unlock rewards for the first wave of Rift Tour quests. Hop into the game between July 29 through August 8 to unlock the first rewards,” Epic added on the dedicated Rift Tour page. These event-related quests can get you rewards like Cosmic Cuddles loading screen (Art by Delicious Design League), Rift-sterpiece Spray, and the Cloudy Kitty emoticon.

Epic also mentioned that they were bringing in a “record-breaking superstar” for the event series and the free event umbrella leaked recently gives rather strong “Rain on me” vibes. For the unaware, “Rain on me” is one of Grande's news tracks that features Lady Gaga. This information on Grande being the artist in the spotlight comes courtesy HYPEX on Twitter who is known to share/leak a lot of very reliable Fortnite-related information.

- Second Poster: It's called Piggy, same name as her pet Piggy Smallz

HYPEX posted an image that matches Grande's “current sets of iconic colour schemes and themes”. However, SlashGear does point out that it is possible the the Rift Tour might feature someone else entirely, but given the images, it seems like it is going to be Grande.

The Rift Tour concert is scheduled for August 7 at 1PM EDT, the Asia and Oceania version is at 12AM EDT on August 8, and the EU and ME version is at 1AM EDT on August 8. And there's going to be a replay of the event for America at 6PM EDT on August 8.
