Grand Theft Auto 6 is not happening yet, but Rockstar Games has given us the GTA Trilogy Remastered Edition until then. While details are sparse on this upcoming Grand Theft Auto refresh, a data miner has scooped some details from the game's website, thereby giving us more details about the GTA Trilogy.

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition will borrow a lot of features from Grand Theft Auto 5, including the control scheme as well as the weapon targeting system. The Trilogy titles will also enhance the graphics as pointed out by Rockstar Games earlier but retain the essence of those vintage open world titles.

GTA Trilogy features detailed

Renowned GTA data miner “alloc8or” scooped more details on the gameplay dynamics of the GTA Trilogy titles, which include Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The following excerpt was found from the Rockstar Games website.

“Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail,” says the excerpt from the mined codes.

The miner also came across the fact that fans purchasing the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition before the year-end will be eligible for a discount on the next purchase from Rockstar Games.

This isn't the first time Rockstar Games has done a Remastered Edition of its older titles. Last year, the Mafia Trilogy saw a remastered version, with the first game getting a complete makeover. The Mafia: The Definitive Edition title was essentially a new game based on the olde story. It seems the GTA Trilogy could be based on the same formula, especially for the earlier titles.

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition will come to PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 soon. Rockstar Games will also bring the GTA Trilogy to Android and iOS platforms in early 2022.
