Roblox down: Company identifies underlying cause of global Roblox outage
Roblox may be close to fixing an outage that has plagued the video game company for at least a second straight day.
“We believe we have identified an underlying internal cause of the outage,” the San Mateo, California-based company said in a tweet. “We're in the process of performing the necessary engineering and maintenance work to get Roblox back up and running ASAP.”

Users have taken to Twitter to express their concerns, with some saying it's led to panic attacks. Even Tobi Lutke, chief executive officer of Shopify Inc., weighed in.
“Crazy that Roblox is still down,” the head of the Canadian e-commerce giant said in a tweet. “Sending love and empathy to their ops team.”
The outage coincided with the opening of a virtual Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. restaurant on Roblox, where the fast-food chain was set to offer $1 million in free burritos and other items, creating a surge in usage over the Halloween weekend.
Roblox said the outage wasn't tied to a specific partnership on its platform. At the time of publishing, the service was still down and Robox's website simply showed the same message: “We're making things more awesome. Be back soon,” with the Robox logo at the bottom.
The service offers users the ability to create their own games and then play them with others, and the platform grew in popularity during the pandemic, with more gamers coming online during the lockdowns around the world.
