You must get annoyed when you get the notification of ‘You missed the call' from your family or friend group over WhatsApp. This generally happens when you are driving, have an unstable internet or being on another important call. Well, you will be pleasantly surprised to know that now you can join ongoing video calls even after missing them initially.

With the quote, “Join Whenever, Never Miss a Moment!” Whatsapp introduced a new button to its mobile app which makes joining the call a lot easier. If you have missed the call, this new ‘Join' button from the chat will allow you to connect with the ongoing video call. Earlier, if you missed a call, you were not allowed to join the ongoing call. This also means that your group needs to coordinate in advance when to have a group video call. But this ‘Join' button, solves all of that!

The join feature was introduced for Whatsapp users back in July, but its functionality remained in the call tab only for voice calls. Now, introducing the ‘Join' button for video calls is a blessing. Whatsapp's calling feature allows eight people at a time for voice calls or video calls.

How to join an ongoing Video call?

Once you missed the call, you will have the ‘Join' button on the top of the chat window in any group call which might be currently ongoing. There, you will have two buttons of ‘Join' and ‘Ignore'. You can click on the Join button, and here you go in the group call!

What's new in WhatsApp?

Besides this new ‘Join' button for group calls, Whatsapp has also rolled out a new ringtone for group calls to make your call ringtone distinguishable from your phone call or other app calls such as FaceTime, Google Duo, etc.

Recently, WhatsApp updated its existing features, including Photo Editor, which will now be used on the Web version of Whatsapp. You can directly edit, crop and make basic changes to the images that you send from your device on your Web Whatsapp too. Additionally, its Link preview feature and sticker suggestion game got stronger with the recent updates made by the message sharing company.
