Nokia has had a bit of a slow start this year where updates to its Android One devices are concerned, with the company having released Android 11 for only one device, until last month. The latest smartphone from the Finnish manufacturer to pick up the Android 11 update is the Nokia 3.2, according to reports.

According to GSMArena, the budget device from Nokia that was launched in 2019 with Android 9 out of the box, is now receiving its second (and final) platform update with the arrival of Android 11. The device is now receiving the update version 3.140 which weighs in at 1.43 GB and requires Wi-Fi to download.

The changelog for the update specifies that the Nokia 3.2 will get Android 11 along with all the new features, a conversation separation mode for the notification area, chat bubbles, one-time permissions — for mic, camera and location. The changelog also mentions that the update brings Google Play system updates, or the ability for security updates to some core services to be distributed over the air.

According to Nokia's own update schedule, the company is yet to update the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 1.3, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 2.4, Nokia 2.3, Nokia 3.4 — these devices were all supposed to receive their updates between Q4 of last year and Q1 of 2021. However, it looks like the Nokia 3.2 was scheduled to receive the update after all these devices, is getting the update first.

Unlike Samsung, however, which still doesn't include support for ‘seamless updates', the Nokia 3.2 will be able to install the update while your phone is not in use so you only have to quickly reboot to enter the new OS. Users can ensure their phone has enough battery left and Wi-Fi has been turned on before installing the update on their Nokia 3.2 smartphones.
