Asus ROG Phone 5 is scheduled to launch in India later today. The new gaming phone from Asus ROG is expected to be another power-specced smartphone with some firsts like 18GB of RAM.

The launch event for Asus ROG Phone 5 is scheduled for 4:15 pm later today. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart. Asus hasn’t revealed anything about the ROG Phone 5 but there have been a couple of leaks and benchmark listings revealing its specs and features.

A new design we might see on the ROG Phone 5 is a secondary screen at the back along with the AniMatrix tech that is used in ROG laptops. Asus ROG phones already have the logo at the back with the strobe lighting but this secondary screen could display notifications. This was spotted on the DxOMark website which published the phone’s audio review. A special red-coloured button was also spotted on the side of the phone. More features confirmed include dual front-facing speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack with ESS DAC and Dirac tuning technology including frequency response correction, and virtual bass technology.

The smartphone will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 processor paired with up to 18GB of RAM. More variants with 8GB and 12GB of RAM are expected as well.

A 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support is also expected on the ROG Phone 5. And in the photography department, Asus could continue with a triple rear camera setup.
