Elon Musk led Tesla smartphone launch likely? What we know so far
What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘Tesla'? An electric car and of course Elon Musk! Well, there is more to it now. Soon, you may witness a Tesla smartphone in the market! We have already seen several tech giants jumping from one industry to another and Tesla is likely to follow suit. The most high profile other tech companies getting into the smartphone business is, of course, Google. While it primarily works as an internet company, Google has just launched the JioPhone Next in collaboration with India's Reliance Industries and then it also has its own smartphone brand Pixel. Even Xiaomi started as an internet company but now it is known as a major smartphone manufacturer. Tesla is just following others into a very exciting and high profile segment. However, since it is Elon Musk and Tesla we are talking about, the Tesla smartphone will have to be special, if it is to be taken seriously.
The expected launch of the Tesla phone rumored to be called Model Pi/P has been in the news for months now. Though there is no official information about the Tesla smartphone, several reports have been circulating on the internet. This is not the first "different" product Tesla has come up. There are other interesting products such as cyber-truck, electric vehicles for kids, a Tesla umbrella and even a stainless steel whistle.
So, when is the Tesla smartphone expected to launch? That is still a secret, but here is what we know so far.
Tesla smartphone expected features and specs
Considering the leaks and rumours around the Tesla smartphone, it is expected to launch a gaming phone. GizChina reported that it expected to come with a sky-blue bar separating the larger blue at bottom from the navy blue colour part on the top. The famous logo 'T' of Tesla is expected to appear in the middle blue strip. Also, it is expected to feature a triple-rear camera setup at the back. According to rumours, Tesla's smartphone will have a 108MP main camera, a 4K-level 6.5 inches screen, a Snapdragon 898 processor, and a 2TB storage capacity.
Tesla smartphone expected price
A phone with all of the above-mentioned modern technology would undoubtedly cost more than a few thousand dollars. As more people use the technology, subsequent generations may become more affordable, but we can't expect its first model to be accessible to most people. LifeWire reported that the expected Tesla smartphone price is between $800 and $1200.
